As I begin my new ministry here in Portlaoise, I do so with a sense of enthusiasm and hope. After 11yrs ordained, I still carry the badge of being the youngest priest from the Diocese. I’m a native of Carlow Town and have already ministered in Newbridge and Bagenalstown places where the experience of community and friendship, have greatly encouraged and supported my life as a priest.
These are most challenging times for the Catholic Church here in Ireland. In our search for renewal and continued healing, the life of Jesus of Nazareth must be our model and indeed inspiration. Jesus is a living source of light and relevance.
His radical vision of inclusivity, justice and liberation provides a rich source of hope and meaning.
I bring with me my strengths and weaknesses, gifts and limitations but above all a genuine desire to serve this community as best as I can together with the support of a wonderful parish team.
My favourite prayer is simple and yet hope filled one.
“Spirit of God loving and free, Spirit of God flow through me”
