    Monday 3rd May 2019

Today is a sad day for his family and the community of Glendowns. Louis Culliton has passed away. Louis was a stalwart of the Residents Association. even in his later years, when poor health kept him house bound, he still maintained a keen interest in the development of the estate.

I found Louis to be a great raconteur and a trusted confidant. a straight talker who gave his unembellished opinion.

From early days in my role as Secretary, I soon learned the value of his opinions and I regularly used to call on him for advice on matters pertaining to the Residents Association. but these visits, and much of my enjoyment, usually ended up with Louis telling ‘yarns’ about his travels as a young man throughout the country. inevitably he would add a few details of embellishment.

To Mairead, Alice, Sile, Donn and Eamonn, I feel sure I speak for all the Community, when I say to you that Louis will be remembered as one of those great people who helped to shape Glendowns into the special place it is today.

Louis may you continue to watch over this little patch of ground that you loved so dearly.

    Requiescat in Pace

Sean Wynne, Secretary Glendowns’ Residents Association.

Louis will forever be remembered by kathy and I as a kind gentle man. He was truly amazing and unforgettable. After our brief times together, our lives were enriched. May your memories be many and fond, and your pain be fleeting.
