Eilish (Lil) Coogan, Lower Main St.
Passed away peacefully at Droimnín Nursing Home Stradbally, in her 100th year. Former Public Health Nurse. Predeceased by her parents Denis and Elizabeth and siblings, Maureen, Jack, Rose, and Denis. Sadly missed by her siblings, Paddy, Kathleen and Nuala and her nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
May she Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Monday, 5th May from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 11.00 am Requiem Mass https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery Portlaoise.
In memory of Eilish “Lil”. I remember Good times , when all the Coogan girl’s and guys were together, lots of loud laughter, conversations that lasted into the early hours, fryups and lot’s of good advice and cups of tea. I have all the letters we exchanged over the years Lil and will always remember the support you gave when it was neaded. I’m closeing in on my 80s now and can say with some authority that you were truly one of a kind Elizabeth Coogan. Love you and Thankyou. Behind the flat facade of number 12, lower main Street There was so much love. It stands there still…..Faded. dusty. rusty drains, lichen grows, blank windowsl, limp lace, cobwebs discarded. Listen’ to the Echo’s, Happy and Sad. A house is nothing without people. The next occupants will put a fire in the hearth and make many more memories I’m sure.
