Eddie Flanagan, Mountmellick and late of Dr Murphy Place.

Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Ballard Lodge Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Teresa (nee Muldowney). Dearly loved father to Brendan, Eamonn, Mary, Tim and Robert. Greatly missed by his loving family. Grandchildren Rachel, Hannah, Eilis, Finn, Isla, Anya and Elodie. Daughters in law Misa, Heather, Manjit and Becky, son in law James. His sisters Florence McCabe (Mountmellick) and Mai Wrenn (Dublin), brothers in law Seamus Wrenn and Paudie McCabe and all the Muldowney family. Nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Given the current exceptional circumstances and the need to protect the welfare of everyone who knew him, a private funeral with immediate family only will take place at 12 noon on Sunday 18th April at St. Peter and Paul’s Church and will be streamed on  http://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/web-cam/. Burial will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery.

Those who would have liked to attend his funeral, but who cannot due to the current restrictions, may leave a personal message for the family on the condolence page below, or send condolences in the traditional manner. The family thank you for your co-operation, understanding and support during this difficult time.

    Beautiful mass and such lovely words. So sorry for your loss. Eddie was a part of my childhood and life and it seems like he was the last one of the ‘group’, (Mum Susie, Uncle Tom and Aunt Shiela, Shem, Teresa and Eddie – God bless them all) all very missed.
